Red Fortune Chinese Restaurant
About This Spot
Stepping into Red Fortune Chinese Restaurant feels like discovering a well-kept neighborhood treasure where warmth and familiarity wrap around you almost immediately. Nestled on a quiet stretch of Oak Street in Bonner Springs, this casual local eatery moves at a comfortable, welcoming pace — the kind of place where the bustle behind the counter blends seamlessly with relaxed family tables and friendly gatherings.
The air hums gently with the mingling aromas of fresh ginger, garlic, and a touch of exotic spice, inviting you to settle in without rush. Whether you’re drawn in for a quick lunch or a leisurely dinner, the atmosphere encourages sharing — not just of plates, but of moments. The service here feels personal, sincere, as if you’re unwinding among neighbors who genuinely enjoy what they do.
As orders come to the table, the dishes reveal a balance between comforting familiarity and carefully tended flavors. The careful layer of heat in the spicy chicken or the satisfying crispness of the crab Rangoon hints at an attention to authenticity without overlooking the approachable. Portions arrive generous, encouraging communal enjoyment and conversations that stretch over refills of jasmine tea or a carefully chosen sake.
Red Fortune is a place where time seems to slow just enough to savor everyday delights — a bowl of egg drop soup that is soothing and straightforward, a plate of lo mein where soft noodles mingle with fresh vegetables and tender pieces of meat, all served quickly but presented with quiet care. The rhythm here mirrors that of a close-knit community meal: unpretentious, reliable, and memorably genuine.
What lingers beyond taste is the ease of being understood. Spicy preferences, dietary tweaks, or quick takeout needs are met with kind attentiveness, making this a haven for longtime locals and new visitors alike. It’s in these thoughtful touches — the friendly smiles, the familiar names, the consistency — that Red Fortune quietly builds its place in Bonner Springs’ everyday life.

They have the best beef fried rice hands down. The beef and broccoli is excellent as well as any other dish you order. The portions are big so be hungry or be ready to share! The service is top tier. Very friendly and fast. My favorite Chinese restaurant

I’ve lived in this town for 29 years so maybe I’m biased. But no matter where I travel, I have consistently found that there is no where like Red Fortune! I love their crab rangoon and egg drop soup- the most authentic tasting in the area. Lunch menu is great and portions are perfect. The takeout is ready in less than 12 mins, prices stay fair, the staff is so genuine. If you dine in, the location has that perfect “hole in the wall” charm. I will forever patronize my favorite spot and bring everyone I know!

If you’re going to eat here, you have to try the Kung Pao Chicken. (I get no peanuts) It’s to DIE for! Been coming here for about 17 years and never had a bad experience. It’s a bit spicy but they’ll accommodate if they can. It’s been my go to dish since day one! I’ve also tried others that are great but that’s my all time fave! No Chinese place compares! And it’s ALWAYS fresh! Egg drop soup and fried rice are always amazing as well.

Very good dinner. Rangoon hot and tasty, Szechuan chicken loaded with meat and many vegetables with perfect heat. Pork with vegetables and brown sauce excellent. Served fast and friendly and a good value. Will be back.

The crab Rangoon was really good. We got the general tsos chicken and the shrimp low mein. The portions are enough for two meals so share or be really hungry. Worth the money.

Absolutely excellent. Fantastic hot and sour soup (at this point in time, #1 in my experience), excellent fried rice varieties, and the lo mein was terrific. The Mongolian beef was exquisitely tender and flavorful. Loved it and will definitely be returning!!

I LOVED I mean LOVED the whole experience there! I have tried so many different asian places and they all leave me feeling rather nasty. This place it didn't! Got seated fast, ordered fast, customer service was amazing, and the food was so good! It was nice and warm it tasted fresh and was so flavorful. I got the chicken chow mean I thought I was going to get noodles, I was NOT disappointed, it wasn't noodles as I was expecting because every place is different it was more of vegetables that where like noodles and the chicken obviously and I loved it so much so much flavor! I loved how it came with rice and wonton strips i think it was called? Also the king crab Rangoon where the best I've ever had! Truly will be coming again
